Xactimate Supplements for
Canadian Roofing Contractors.

We are a United States estimating desk, and we write supplements for roofing contractors across Canada. Xactimate is used on both sides of the border, the work is done remotely, and the file does not care where our desk sits. Pricing is in United States dollars, stated plainly so you are never guessing which currency a number is in.

All pricing in USD.

What we are, said plainly

  • A US company. Based in the United States, working with Canadian contractors. Not a Canadian firm and not pretending to be one.
  • Remote by design. Files arrive, get written, and go back electronically. Nothing about the service depends on being in the same country as the roof.
  • Xactimate native. The software your insurer already uses, with the correct regional price list and the ESX file returned to you.
  • Priced in USD. Every figure we publish is in United States dollars. We do not print a converted Canadian figure, because an exchange rate on a web page is stale the moment it ships and you would be reading a number that is no longer true.
  • Honest about what we do not know yet. Canadian code and Canadian insurers are genuinely different, not a variation on the American versions. Where we cannot source something properly, we tell you instead of filling the gap.

How a file moves

01

You send the file

The insurer estimate, your measurement report, and photos. Same intake as any other file we take.

02

We read it against the actual scope

Line by line, checking quantities against your measurements and looking for what the original scope left out.

03

We write it in Xactimate

Correct price list for the region, correct codes, accurate sketch, with the reasoning attached to the lines that need it.

04

You get it back

The estimate and the ESX file, ready to submit. You keep the relationship with your insurer; we do the desk work behind it.

What does not transfer from the American side

Most estimating content written for the American market does not survive the trip north, and it is worth being direct about why. There is no IRC in Canada. The National Building Code is a model code, and each province adopts it, amends it, or writes its own. A code argument that carries weight in one province may not exist in the next one.

Insurers are different companies entirely, and how a specific one handles a specific kind of supplement is something you learn from files, not something you can carry over from a different market. We are not going to tell you we have that mapped when we do not.

What does transfer is the part that is actually the job. A scope with missing line items is missing them anywhere. Quantities taken off a measurement report are right or wrong regardless of the country. A request with the reasoning attached reads better than a request without it. That is the work, and it is portable.

Our credential is a United States one: this desk is run by licensed independent insurance adjusters in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, and Alabama. That is a statement about who we are, and it is not a claim about authority anywhere in Canada.

Provinces

We are building province pages one at a time, starting with the biggest storm markets, so that each one is written against real provincial material rather than a template with the name swapped. Contractors anywhere in Canada can send a file today whether or not their province has a page yet. Territories are outside our coverage, and we would rather say so here than have you find out later.

We serve Quebec contractors in English. Everything we produce, the estimate, the supplement, and our correspondence with you, is in English.

Province pages are in progress. Send your file in the meantime and we will handle it the same way.

The TEC Guarantee

Send us an average of 2 claims per week for 12 months and we guarantee you will add a minimum of six figures in additional margin to your business. If you do not, we write you a $5,000 check at the end of the 12 months.

All pricing in USD, and the guarantee is paid in USD. This is a commitment we are making to you, not a projection of what your claims will return.

Questions

Are you a Canadian company?

No. We are a United States company working with Canadian roofing contractors. Every file is handled remotely, which is how the work gets done regardless of which side of the border the roof is on. We say this up front because you should know who you are hiring before you send a file, not after.

What currency are your fees in?

All pricing is in United States dollars. We do not quote in Canadian dollars and we do not publish a converted figure, because an exchange rate printed on a web page is out of date almost immediately and would give you a number you cannot rely on. Your own bank or card issuer applies the conversion at the rate on the day you pay.

Do you work in Xactimate for Canadian claims?

Yes. Xactimate is used in Canada, and that is the whole reason this works. We write in Xactimate natively, with the correct price list for the region, and return the ESX file along with the supplement.

Do you know Canadian building codes?

We do not assume that anything about American code applies in Canada, because it does not. There is no IRC in Canada. The National Building Code is a model code and each province adopts or writes its own. Where a code argument matters on your file, we source the provincial provision that actually governs the property rather than reaching for a familiar American one. If we cannot source it cleanly, we say so and build the file on the parts we can support.

Do you know how Canadian insurers handle supplements?

Canadian insurers are different companies from the American ones, and we will not tell you we have their settled behaviour mapped when we do not. What transfers is the mechanics: a scope that is missing line items is missing them in any market, and a documented request with the quantities corrected and the reasoning attached is how that gets fixed. What we learn about a specific insurer, we learn on your file and tell you honestly.

Which provinces do you work in?

Contractors anywhere in Canada can send us a file. We are building out province by province, starting with the biggest storm markets, so that each provincial page is written against real provincial material instead of a template. Territories are outside what we cover today, and we would rather say that than let you find out after you send something.

Do you work with contractors in Quebec?

Yes, and we work in English. Every estimate, supplement, and piece of correspondence we produce is in English. We would rather tell you that before you send a file than have you discover it afterward.

What is the guarantee?

Send us an average of 2 claims per week for 12 months and we guarantee you will add a minimum of six figures in additional margin to your business. If you do not, we write you a $5,000 check at the end of the 12 months. All pricing is in United States dollars, and the guarantee is paid in United States dollars. It is a commitment we are making, not a forecast of what your claims will return.

How do I send you a file from Canada?

The same way anyone else does. Send the insurer estimate, your measurement report, and photos of anything the scope missed. Nothing in the process depends on where you are.

Send us one and see

Send the insurer estimate and your measurement report. We will read it and tell you what we see, including telling you if there is nothing worth chasing on it.

All pricing in USD.
