What to Look for in a Roofing Supplement Company Guarantee
Published by The Estimate Company
Before you hand your claims to a roofing supplement company, ask them one question: What happens if it doesn't work out?
Most will change the subject. Because most roofing supplement companies offer no guarantee at all. You pay their fee (or percentage), they submit the supplement, and whatever happens — happens. If it falls short, that's your problem.
That's the industry standard. And it's not good enough.
Why Most Companies Don't Offer Guarantees
The honest reason is confidence — or the lack of it. A company that genuinely knows what they're doing isn't afraid to put skin in the game. A company that's guessing, outsourcing, or using junior writers? They'll never commit to results.
Guarantees also require you to actually know your numbers. If you don't track what you're recovering per claim, how your clients' margins are changing, and whether your supplements are actually getting approved — you can't offer a guarantee. You don't have the data.
What a Real Guarantee Looks Like
A real guarantee has three components:
- Specificity. Not "we'll do our best" — a concrete, measurable outcome. Dollar amounts. Timeframes. Something you can point to and say: did we hit this or not?
- Accountability. What happens if they miss? If there's no consequence, it's not a guarantee — it's a marketing line.
- Reasonableness. The guarantee should require consistent engagement from both sides. Two claims a week for a year is reasonable. One claim every three months is not a real test of the system.
Red Flags to Watch For
- ❌ "We guarantee results" with no specifics — meaningless
- ❌ Flat fee per supplement with no contingency — they get paid whether or not the carrier approves anything
- ❌ No follow-up process — submitting a supplement and waiting is not a strategy
- ❌ No IA credentials — people writing supplements without licensed adjuster experience are guessing at what carriers will accept
- ❌ Offshore or outsourced writers — common in the industry, rarely disclosed
What We Offer at The Estimate Company
Our guarantee is simple and specific: work with us on 2 claims per week for 12 months, and you'll add a minimum of 6 figures to your margins. Miss that mark — we write you a $5,000 check.
We can make that offer because we know our numbers. We've processed 20,000+ estimates and 5,000+ supplements. We know what carriers pay, what they miss, and how to close the gap. Kyle and Lexie Hamrick are licensed independent adjusters — they've sat on both sides of this process for over 40 years combined.
We also follow up with carriers 2–3 times per week. We don't submit and hope. We push until it closes.
The Bottom Line
The roofing supplement industry is full of companies that will happily take your percentage and deliver mediocre results with no accountability. The guarantee separates the ones who know what they're doing from the ones who are winging it.
Demand specifics. Demand accountability. And if a company can't answer the question "what happens if it doesn't work out" — keep looking.
